Bristol Sheltered Accommodation & Support offers relief from poverty, hardship and distress among homeless refugees by providing temporary residential accommodation to those in need. Sheltered and Social Housing premises, by their very nature, often experience anti-social and nuisance behaviour.
The Requirement
The management chose to have CCTV installed as “it’s necessary for the type of business we run. We decided that it would help to prevent things before they happen. They were looking for a very comprehensive system to cover all public areas as well as monitoring all hallways spanning the 3 floors of the building.
It was also imperative that all outside and communal areas were also being monitored.
The Solution
To help residents feel safe and more secure we recommended an unobtrusive CCTV system consisting of a combination of 26 high resolution internal minidome cameras and 6 true day/night infrared external bullet cameras. As a result, the system offers both residents and the local community an enhanced sense of security and the management are “extremely pleased, as the occurrences of anti-social behaviour in the home have decreased and the home has taken a relaxed feel with residents knowing that they can more or less leave their doors open and know it is safe”.
The management reported that the CCTV aids the local Police who are very impressed with the system. “If they require footage that can verify a resident’s movements and whereabouts, we can provide high class images very simply”.
