Miller Motor Group was established in 1959 offer a wide range of products and services through 4 petrol stations at sites in Colchester, Clacton, Eight Ash Green and West Mersea in Essex.
They take great pride in offering a Fast, Fresh & Friendly service, in a clean & well-lit environment, delivered throughout the day.
All sites have ATM Cash Machines, Car Wash & Vacuum, wash room facilities, fresh coffee making facilities as well as fully stocked shops providing everything milk, tobacco, confectionary as well as all everyday essentials.
The Requirement
Each site was utilising an old existing CCTV system and all of them were of various ages and differing levels of quality, both for the functionality of the system and quality of the images being recorded. We were asked to look at upgrading the CCTV systems at all 4 sites so that from the central HQ, all 4 sites could be monitored from the one central platform.
It was imperative that from the head office, all areas of the shop and stockrooms could be seen clearly seen so that fresh products could easily and quickly be replenished if required. Also, that images were of a high enough quality for the security of the premises and for the colleagues and customers.
The Solution
In the first instance all digital recorders were upgraded over a staggered period, this allowed for all 4 sites to be easily monitored at the head office in West Mersea by using the Smart PSS software or the DMSS app viewer. All cameras from all sites that monitor shop and stock areas were easily grouped on the software and remote viewer apps, this allows relevant personnel to view these cameras simultaneously which greatly assists with stock control.
Most of the existing cameras were of good quality, there have been cameras across all sites that have been upgraded to minimum 4 megapixel quality and new cameras have also been added as requested. The picture quality being recorded is of such high quality enabling all faces to be recognised and all number plates recorded.
