Who are NPC?
Nationwide Precast Concrete Ltd has over 25 years of experience and knowledge in manufacturing a vast range of precast concrete retaining walls. The NPC team have designed and developed some of the UK’s major retaining wall systems, which are still in operation.
NPC pride themselves on their technical expertise and ability to meet the challenges associated with precast concrete retaining walls.
They are the only company that specializes in making prestressed concrete panels for bulk materials and manufacture their products in-house from their site in Ardleigh, just outside of Colchester in Essex.
Requirements
I-HT were approached to look at providing a solution to look at monitoring all production areas as well as a production site that is approximately 500 meters away from their main office. The purpose of the CCTV system was to assist in the day to day operations of the site, provide general security for the site to ensure the strict Health & Safety protocols are met.
Solution
An initial number of 8 cameras were proposed which would provide coverage for all areas, with enough capacity left within the scope of supply to add cameras when they look at developing the site in the future.
After agreeing to the proposed system, a pre-installed survey was carried out to ensure that both customer and supplier were fully in-tune with the installation and what was required from both parties to ensure the installation was carried as efficiently as possible.
Advanced wireless bridges allowed us to monitor the remote production area that would have proven impossible if only traditional cable methods were available. The NVR was installed in the operations office and connected to a 28” 4K monitor that was mounted to a tilt & swivel bracket to allow for best viewing of the system to all personnel.
