Client: Oulton Broad Parish Council
Location: Near Lowestoft, Suffolk
the first consultation visit with Lee was very good and he provided myself and the other councillors a very good demonstration of the system
Located just a mile west of Lowestoft and perched on the edge of the Broads, Oulton Broad offers year-round water sports, wonderful cafes, riverside eateries, scenic walks, fishing spots and the Edwardian Nicholas Everitt park – this really is an ideal place to spend a day out enjoying The Suffolk Coast.
The Edwardian Park situated on the edge of the broads is home to many play areas, a boating lake, trampolines, crazy golf, tennis courts, a bowling green and a beautiful Victorian bandstand, on selected Sundays during the summer you can enjoy afternoons of brass band concerts.
The Requirement
Over the recent years, the Parish Council had noticed an increase in anti-social behavior particularly out of hours throughout many areas within the park along with acts of mindless vandalism. After a recent significant investment into apparatus within the children’s play area, they really wanted to monitor and protect these areas. There were many other areas within the vast area of the park that had experienced many untoward activities taking place.
The Solution
An initial 12 cameras covering the most problematic areas of the park was proposed, more capacity on the proposed system was allowed for additional cameras to be easily added to the system in the future.
As many of the areas that needed to be monitored were scattered around and over vast distances within the park, the very latest in wireless technology was used to send the signals from all camera locations back to the central Parish Clerks office.
Since the system has been installed, it has acted as a good deterrent against anti-social behavior & will provide good clear key evidence if an incident were to occur.
The Parish Clerk Tina went on to add that ‘the first consultation visit with Lee was very good and that he provided myself and the other councillors a very good demonstration of the system’. Tina said that she is very satisfied with the system and rated the experience working with I-HT as being ‘very good’.
Recently the system has also been very useful to the Police.
